Leonardo Da Vinci

Showcasing Leonardo da Vinci’s Brilliance with Nodeland

Leonardo da Vinci was one of the most brilliant minds of all time. His contributions were enormous in different fields, which is why he is regarded as a polymath (a person whose knowledge is not restricted to a single area).

In the field of the arts, he was the author of works of inestimable value, such as Mona Lisa and The Last Supper.

In the field of science, he was a designer of machines with elaborate mechanics that were far ahead of his time.

In the fields of anatomy and mathematics, his drawing of the Vitruvian Man became a symbol of the Renaissance period.

This interactive mind map details some of his main contributions. Simply click on each of the nodes to access more details.

Birth Da Vinci was born in the year 1452 in Florence, Italy. Son of a peasant mother and a notary father.
Youth At the age of 17, Da Vinci became an apprentice to a great artist of the time, Andrea del Verrocchio. In Verrocchio’s workshop, he learned many of the techniques that later allowed him to create the great works we know today.
Work and Influence Leonardo was admired and frequently hired by highly influential people. By commission, he carried out projects for the Medici family, for Ludovico Sforza (Duke of Milan), and for Cesare Borgia (son of Pope Alexander VI).
